Korean Ground Beef and Rice Bowls

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 3 cloves minced garlic

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tsp sesame oil

  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • cooked rice

  • optional sesame seeds


  1. Cook ground beef (1 lb) and minced garlic (3 cloves) in large frying pan over medium heat until no longer pink

  2. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar (1/4 cup), soy sauce (1/4 cup), sesame oil (2 tsp), ground ginger (1/4 tsp), red pepper flakes (1/4 tsp), and pepper (1/4 tsp).

  3. Pour over ground beef and let simmer for 2-3 minutes

  4. Serve over hot rice and garnish with sesame seeds
